Clinical Abstract Format


Abstract Structure
The abstract should be structured under the following headings:

  • Background / Introduction
  • Objectives
  • Materials and Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusion

Word Limit

  • Maximum abstract length: 300 words
  • Title and author information are excluded from the word count

Title Guidelines

  • Use a concise and informative title
  • Avoid abbreviations in the title where possible
  • Do not use all capital letters

Author Information

  • Include all contributing authors
  • Clearly identify the presenting author
  • Provide institutional affiliations separately where required

Formatting Requirements

  • Use standard scientific terminology
  • Avoid tables, charts, and images in the abstract body
  • Use generic drug names instead of brand names
  • Standard abbreviations may be used after first expansion

Oral Presentation and E-Poster Guidelines


Oral Presentation

  • Selected abstracts may be assigned for oral presentation
  • Presentation duration and slide format will be communicated separately
  • Presenters must adhere strictly to the allotted presentation time

E-Poster Presentation

  • Selected abstracts may be converted to E-poster presentations
  • E-poster specifications will be shared after acceptance

Criteria for Disqualification (Oral / E-Poster)


Submissions may be disqualified for any of the following reasons:

  • Disclosure of author names or institutional affiliations within the abstract text
  • Previously published studies
  • Studies previously presented at FHNO conferences
  • Plagiarized, fabricated, or manipulated data
  • Canvassing or influencing reviewers
  • Incomplete submissions
  • Non-compliance with formatting or ethical guidelines

AI Policy for Abstract Submission


Author Responsibility
Authors are fully responsible for the originality, integrity, and scientific accuracy of submitted work.

Mandatory Disclosure
If AI tools are used during manuscript preparation, authors must disclose:

  • Name of the AI tool used (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini)
  • Scope of usage (editing, structuring, analysis support, etc.)

Acceptable Use of AI

  • Language refinement
  • Grammar correction
  • Structural assistance
  • Data analysis support with human verification

Prohibited Use of AI

  • Fully AI-generated abstracts
  • AI-generated conclusions without validation
  • Fabricated or manipulated data
  • Unverified AI-based analysis
  • Citing AI-generated content as a primary scientific source

Compliance
Violation of the AI policy may result in rejection or withdrawal of the submission.

  • Read all submission guidelines carefully
  • Select the appropriate topic category
  • Enter abstract details
  • Review all information before final submission
  • Click the "Submit" button

General Submission Guidelines


  • FHNO 2026 Kashmir is inviting submissions for Clinical Abstract Presentations under various head and neck oncology themes.

  • Abstracts must be submitted exclusively through the official online submission portal. Abstracts sent via email or any other mode will not be accepted.

  • Only registered delegates of FHNO 2026 Kashmir are eligible to submit abstracts.

  • Authors should select the topic category that best matches the content of their submission.

  • All submitted abstracts must represent original work.

  • Previously published studies or abstracts presented at previous FHNO conferences are not eligible.

  • The scientific committee reserves the right to:

    • Accept or reject any submission
    • Change the presentation category
    • Reassign abstracts to more suitable themes

  • The presenting author is responsible for:

    • Accuracy of the submitted content
    • Ethical compliance
    • Obtaining all required permissions and approvals
    • Notifications regarding acceptance, rejection, and presentation format will be communicated through email.
